Restricted Work Licence Applications
A Restricted Work Licence (Section 87) allows you to continue driving for work purposes even during a disqualification for drink or drug driving. Don't let a mistake cost you your livelihood.
Are You Eligible?
To apply for a Work Licence, you must meet strict criteria at the time of the offence and application:
Valid QLD Licence
You must have held a valid Open or Provisional QLD licence at the time.
Reading Below 0.15
You are NOT eligible if your BAC was 0.15 or higher (High Range DUI).
Clean 5-Year History
No disqualifications or suspensions within the last 5 years (with minor exceptions).
Non-Work Driving
You must NOT have been driving for your job at the time of the offence.
The Two Keys to Success
Your lawyer must prove two critical points to the Magistrate through detailed affidavits:
"Fit & Proper" Person
The Court examines the offence alongside your traffic history. We highlight your character and responsibility to satisfy the Magistrate that granting the licence does not pose a risk.
Extreme Hardship
Failing to grant the licence must deprive you of your means to earn a living. We help document how a loss of licence would lead to job loss or severe financial distress.
